Happy St Patrick's Day

Haven't had a chance to do a full blown painty-painting in a while, and it was definitely fun to get back to. I have issues with stereotypes, Irish ones not being the least of them...so I decided to try and design my own Leprechaun.
Here's what happened :D

Trade Frontiers

So a few weeks back I got the chance to do some images for a promo video for the board game Trade Frontiers www.trade-frontiers.com and thought you might want to see a bit of the process.

After reading through the script a bunch of times and having a look at the existing art whose style I'd need to match, I did some character designs for Miera and the Narrator. Chris (Brind, who is possibly the most awesome client I've had to this date) picked what he liked and we plowed forward.

I did some thumbs for each of the beats and then headed on into final rendering. Chris gathered up all the bits, got a freshly baked cut of the text acted out on vocals and put together a video which can be found over here

This was a lot of fun to work on, and as far as I know there'll be a kickstarter booting up in a few months so keep your eyes peeled :)

24 Carrot Gun

Took a carrot as the starting point for this gun, played with it in a few different ways :D
And a random hare character, as the one I designed in the stream the other day fell away into the ether.

Also, seeing as I'm doing an upload, have a re-inked version of Kurt's turnaround. Have had the pencils on my computer for an age as I really like the design, but never inked it up. Kurt was the frontman of an animal band from a pitch I worked on a few years back.

Blogger hates long images

...if I remember correctly. Might put another hour into this in the morning, but for now I'm calling time.

The Rules of Good Men

"Good men don't need rules. Today is not the day to find out why I have so many."

When I came up with the idea for this, I had a tangential idea for Whovian Chess. Any piece can be removed from the board and placed in the TARDIS, and game carries on. At a chosen turn the TARDIS piece can re-materialise on the same spot and carry on. Can only be used one at a time, but could be a life saver if used well :D

Anyways, Game of Thrones and Doctor Who, celebrating clever folk being clever. AND THEY'RE BOTH COMING BACK.
